Laudable Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Initiatives by ANIIDCO

Port Blair, Dec 19: As a part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives in 2018-19 ANIIDCO has approved two interesting projects for a total amount of Rs. 63.00 lakhs. The projects are Solar Ambassador Training and Purchase of boat for providing ferry service to Hanspuri village, North & Middle Andaman. Under Solar Ambassador Training the LG has approved a proposal of Power Department to provide training to approximately 10,500 students of Class XI & XII of around 65 schools (Both Govt. and Private) to assemble solar lamp. ANIIDCO will provide Rs. 50.00 lakhs to procure materials for training under its CSR initiative. The Training will be provided to the students by IIT, Mumbai. These students will be Solar Ambassador, who will be torch bearers of the Global pledge limiting global warming and 100% renewable energy.
As per second project Hanspuri village is the remotest village cut off from Mayabunder and the nearest habitation is around 11 kms. There is no road and the only mode of transportation is through private hired boat via sea creeks. In order to improve the life of people of Hanspuri village and considering hire charges for the boat is unbearable for common man of these locality, ANIIDCO decided to provide Rs.13.00 lakhs to the Zilla Parishad, N & M Andaman for procurement of boat for providing better connectivity to Hanspuri village. The running and maintenance of the boat will be done by the Hanspuri village Panchayat.
Last year, ANIIDCO had contributed Rs. 58.00 lakhs for promotion of education, sanitation, health care etc. and committed to its social responsibilities to make positive impact on society.
