Port Blair, July 9: The Lt Governor, A&N Islands Admiral D.K. Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, VSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.) visited Diglipur yesterday and interacted with the PRI members, Head of Departments and general public at the Zilla Parishad Community Hall, Shibpur. He was accompanied by Shri Abhishek Dev, Secretary to LG, Secretary PWD and Civil Aviation, Shri Udit Prakash Rai, Secretary, Rural Development, Shri Awanish Kumar, Deputy Commissioner, N&M, Shri Vichitra Veer Singh, Superintendent of Police N&M, Shri Alok Kumar, Assistant Commissioner, North Andaman.
The PRI Members spoke about the emergent issues including the tendering process of roads, road connectivity between Ramnagar and Kalipur, load shedding maintenance of pipeline and local posting of NSRM Employees.
The Lt Governor appraised the gathering about the new initiatives taken by the A&N Administration and assured the public to get the issues examined by the concerned Directorates for their speedy resolution.
Secretary PWD, Civil Aviation and Secretary RD responded to the concerns raised in the meeting and promised to resolve them in time.
Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner, N&MA welcomed the Lt Governor and briefed him about the actions taken on the points raised in the earlier meeting held in January, 2018. The meeting ended with a vote of thanks proposed by the Adhyaksha, Zilla Parishad, N&MA.
