LT GEN MM Naravane Visits ANC

Port Blair, May 21: Lt Gen MM Naravane, PVSM, AVSM, SM, VSM, General Officer Commanding in Chief (GOC-in-C) Eastern Command arrived at Port Blair today on a three day visit to Andaman and Nicobar Command (ANC). He is accompanied by Mrs Veena Naravane, Regional President, Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA).

On arrival at HQ ANC, the General Officer interacted with Maj Gen Beji Mathews, Chief of Staff, Andaman and Nicobar Command and was briefed on the operational aspects of the Command. The General Officer will be visiting Army, Navy and Air Force establishments at Port Blair, Kamorta and Car Nicobar.

Lt Gen MM Naravane was inducted into the 7th Sikh Light Infantry in Jun 1980 and is an alumnus of National Defence Academy, Pune and Indian Military Academy, Dehradun. The General has a master’s degree in Defence Studies from Chennai University and M. Phil in Defence and Management studies from Devi Ahilya Viswavidyalaya, Indore. In his distinguished military career spanning 38 years, the General officer has held various important Command, Staff and Instructional appointments and has also served as the Indian Defence attach to Myanmar in a release Deputy Director (M&C), PIB Port Blair said.
