Port Blair, Dec 03: In reference to the letter of the President, “SAHYOG” ( An Association of Divyang Persons) working in A &N Islands, Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray, MP Andaman vide his letter to the Prime Minister of India has raised the some legitimate demands to resolved the same in the larger interest of the Divyang of this Territory.
The main legitimate demands were as to issue the Notification under Section 37 of Chepter-IV to make the provision of 5% reservation in allotment of Agriculture land for the Divyang under the relevant housing schemes.
The benefit of concession as getting by the Divyang of Railways for the journey at mainland may also be extended for the Divyang of this territory without restriction of trips in a calendar year.
Opening of special school for the Divyang either by the Govt. or by NGO.
Enhancement of allowances who are 100 % disabled according to the cost index of this territory.
As per the Section-79 of Chapter -12, the Commissioner & State Commissioner for disabilities to be appointed as said in a press release addressed by MP, Port Blair.
