Mass Rally of Students to mark 70th Vanamahotsava

Port Blair, July 25: To commemorate the 70th Vanamahotsava, a mass rally with students of Govt. Senior Secondary School, Tushnabad was conducted on 23.07.2019 from the School premises till Primary Health Tushnabad and the programme was followed by sapling planting in the School campus. Teachers and students actively participated in the rally by chanting slogans and also participated in the planting of saplings.
On 25.07.2019, a tree-planting programme was conducted on the premises of Govt. Middle School, Ograbraj where the teachers and the students of the School planted saplings in the School premises to celebrate 70th Vanamahotsava. The Vanamahotsava celebrations in both the Schools were conducted by Tushnabad Range in presence of Mr. V.V.Dinesh Kumar, Assistant Conservator of Forests, South Andaman spearheaded by the Range Officer, Tushnabad  Mr.  Jainal Abdin and his team. Awareness was created among the teachers and students by explaining the importance of trees in day to day life as well as the history and importance of Vanamahotsava. The students were urged to plant a number of saplings and to conserve it in order to contribute their participation in the Jal Sakthi Abhiyaan started by the Ministry of Jal Sakthi, Govt. of India.
