The Armed Forces Flag Day is commemorated on 7th December every year since 1949 to mark the solidarity of the nation with our soldiers. This is an occasion for the citizens of the country to recognize and pay tribute to our gallant soldiers for their supreme sacrifices. It is also a befitting occasion to express our gratitude to the valiant combatants by way of generous contributions towards “The Armed Forces Flag Day Fund”.
This year also “The Armed Forces Flag Day” will be observed throughout the country on 7th December, 2018 and our Islands will also be observing the same. To mark this day, stickers and token flags are distributed through Rajya Sainik Board, Port Blair in return for generous voluntary donations and support for “The Armed Force Flag Day Fund”.
I extend my heartfelt greetings to all members and to all those who are associated with the welfare of the Indian Armed Forces.
I, therefore, urge every citizen of our Islands to contribute generously towards this noble cause and to express the solidarity with our Armed Forces Personnel and their families.
