Mock Exercise on Earthquake followed by Tsunami to be in between 22nd and 27th April, 2019

Port Blair, Apr 22: It has brought to the notice of General Public as well as the Stakeholders that the postponed Mock Exercise on Earthquake followed by Tsunami will now be conducted in any day during the last week i.e. between 22nd and 27th April, 2019 to assess the preparedness and response mechanism of the stakeholders, Nodal Officers of line Department/Agencies, Task Forces, QRTs and other Organisations etc.

On the day of the Mock Disaster Management Exercise all communication channels will be opened for issuing warnings and /or alerts (Mock), Mock SMS alerts to all the stakeholders, Nodal Officers of line Departments/Agencies, Task Forces, QRTs and other Organisations and Tsunami sirens will also been blown as test siren.

General Public is requested to be abreast of this, not to get panic and cooperate during the Un-alerted Mock Disaster Management Exercise. It has reiterated that the Mock Exercise will be conducted without any further notice, Govind Ram, Director (DM) said.
