Port Blair, Sept 14: The long pending demand of villagers of LoukiNallah under Swadesh Nagar Gram Panchayat, Mayabunder Tehsil for construction of bridge has been resolved by the A&N Administration by granting Rs.3,43,94,991/- under UT fund.
Responding to the demands of villagers LoukiNallahh under Swadesh Nagar Gram Panchayat, Mayabunder Tehsil keeping in view of the difficulties being faced by the villagers due to non availability of bridge over the nallahsince their settlement of 1965,Mr.BishnuPadaRay, Member of Parliament, A&N Islands had taken up the matter with the Administration during 03/2018 for sanction of fund for construction of bridge under UT fund on priority. Accordingly, the Administration after examination and on receipt of estimation from the APWD has sanctioned an amount of Rs.3,43,94,991/- for C/o Steel Bridge near Tam Temple to connect two villages at LoukiNallah W.No.3 & 4, under Swadesh Nagar Gram Panchayat, Mayabunder Tehsil. The other formalities for inviting tender etc is being carried by the APWD for early starting of the work.
