Port Blair, July 08: Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament, A&N Islands has taken up the matter with the Lt. Governor, A&N Islands with regard to transfer policy of Government employees working in the various departments under A&N Administration, to implement the same during the month of February – March of every calendar year instead at the beginning stage of academic session in the month of June – July, 2019.
The Member of Parliament in his letter addressed to Lt. Governor, A&N Islands has stated that around 29,000 Government employees are working in the various departments under the A&N Administration and before start of new academic session from Ist July, 2019, their children have been got admitted in the schools convenient to them and necessary admission fee/ tuition fee, other incidental charges, school uniforms, transportation charges for dropping/collecting of their children also paid to the respective authorities/agencies. However, due to issuance of sudden transfer orders by the various departments, many government servants are facing tremendous difficulties to join their new place of posting in compliance to transfer orders.
Mr. Sharma, MP, A&N Islands however, emphasised that if the transfer orders are issued before start of summer vacation i.e. during month of February –March of the calendar year, the Govt. servant would have made their plans about their children education/family shifting to the transfer place of posting or by making alternative arrangements without any difficulties. At this juncture, neither the govt. employee are able to leave their families/children at their old station nor the transfer employee are in the position to shift their families along with their children to the new place of posting due to the facts that many children are fully depends on their parents for education and other family obligations.
Under these circumstances, the Member of Parliament of these islands Mr. Sharma requested the Lt. Governor for his intervene into the matter to consider for implementation of transfer policy of Government servants during February – March of every calendar year instead of June – July in the larger interest of the Government employees and for smooth functioning of the system.
