Port Blair, July 19: The pristine Little Andaman & Nicobars (with 31.22% of the area & only 14.62% of the population of A&N Islands) are poised for transformational development under the aegis of IDA. Mr Vivek Rae (ex-Chief Secretary of A&N Islands), Chairman of the NITI Aayog Committee on Holistic Development of Little Andaman and Great Nicobar, called on Admiral D K Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.), Lt Governor, A&N Islands and Vice-Chairman, Islands Development Agency. The committee consisting of vertical specialists and anthropologists, with stakeholder inputs over the last 6-8 months, is at the final stage to submit its recommendations. Sustainability, environmental and tribal welfare concerns to be fully addressed while recommending a development model.
