NCST to honor Dr. Pronob Kumar Sircar with Leadership Award

Port Blair, Jan 30: The National Commission for Scheduled Tribes has decided to present its first Leadership Award in the category of individual for services/work towards Scheduled Tribes to Dr. Pronob Kumar Sircar, Tribal Welfare Officer, Andaman & Nicobar Adim Janjati Vikas Samiti.
The National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST) is a constitutional body set up under Article 338A of the Constitution on 19th February, 2004.
It has been mandated to protect and safeguard the provisions provided under the Constitution for protection, welfare and socio-economic development of the Scheduled Tribes in the country. The Commission shall complete its 15 years on 19th February, 2019.
As a mark of recognition of services/work rendered by either any public servant or any NGO/Civil Society/Individuals for upliftment of Scheduled Tribes, the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes has decided to award Leadership Award to an individual for yeoman service and commitment towards Scheduled Tribes.
The Award will be in the shape of a Medal, citation and a shawl and will be presented by the Vice President of India at National Media Centre, Raisina Road, New Delhi on 19th February, 2019 at 10.00 A.M.
