NCUI with NABARD Organises 21 Days Skill Development Programme for Women

Port Blair, Nov 29: The National Cooperative Union of India in collaboration with NABARD organised a twenty days toy making for 25 womens for skill development at sangeeta tailoring and fashion designing institute at Garacharma on 27th November, 2018. The programme was inaugurated by Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Chairman, A & N State Coop. Union. Mr. Surendra Nath Singh, Project Officer, NCUI, welcoming the gathering and briefed the activities undertaken by NUCI. He said that self help group can play a vital role for the upliftment of women and weaker section in the society. Dr. Harpriya Nayak, Scientist, Krishi Vigyan Kendra in her address expressed her happiness towards the active participation of women members of self help group in the field of promoting various income generating activities. Smt. Shaban Banu, Assistant Manager, NABARD, said that NABARD is providing various opportunities for establishing self employment unit through Micro Entrepreneurship Development training in various sectors are the only means of employment generation in the island.
