Port Blair, Sept 10: A League cum knockout rolling trophy football tournament was organised at Baludera ground of Baratang. A total of 14 teams participated in the month long delightful tournament. The final match was organised on 10.09.2018 between Jarawa Creek XI and Bolcha Boys in which Jarawa Creek XI won by a score line of 1-0. Mr. A.C Tilak, DFO Baratang gave away the winning trophy during award ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. A.C. Tilak congratulated the organizing committee for piloting such an overwhelming tournament with so much little resources. He stressed upon conducting similar tournaments in future as well for the benefit of youngsters of the area to gather good sportsmanship and all round development of local youths. The runner ups’ cash award was jointly handed over to the team Bolcha Boys by Pradhan of Sundergarh, Mr. Biju Gurudasan and Pradhan of Nilambur panchayat, Mr. Roy George. Various other individual and team awards were presented to the players by other dignitaries present on stage.
