Port Blair, Feb 08: Today in a simple function held at Shadipur Smt. Anusia Devi, Chairperson, Port Blair Municipal Council laid foundation stone for construction of motorable road with side drain and footpath from Police Quarter to Jairam’s House in presence of Smt. Sheela Singh, Councillor Ward No:10. Officers, workers and area populace were also present on this occasion. At the outset Smt. Sheela Singh, Councillor welcomed the gathering and appraised that this project was a long pending demand of the populace of this area to have a motorable road as the residents were facing very hardship due to non-availability of proper approach. Smt. Anusia Devi, Chairperson, PBMC also expressed her gratitude and directed the Engineers of the Council to speed up the work and complete it in a time bound manner, as said in a press release by Anusia Devi, Chairperson, PBMC.
