Port Blair, April 5: As a part of Special Election Campaign for Women under SVEEP, to ensure that no voter should be left behind, a Pinkathon for women was organized by the District Administration, Nicobars today. The race was held from Tsunami Memorial to G.S.S. Tamaloo.
Later, an awareness program was organized at Priyadarshini Auditoruim, Tamaloo exclusively for women, in which, the Deputy Commissioner, Nicobars Dr. Monica Priyadarshini was the chief guest while Dr. Anuradha was the guest of honour. Addressing the gathering, the chief guest encouraged everyone to cast their vote in the forthcoming election. A demonstration of EVM operation for casting votes was made for women.
To add more fervour to the programme, various fun games like Toich kuk ngaich kuhial kuk (peeling & scraping coconut), stitching competition, mehendi competitions, panipuri eating competition, balloon blasting competitions etc. were organized for women.
