Police Station Chatham Seizes 66 Bottles of IMFL

Port Blair, July 03: In continuation of the seizures of illegal liquor, a team of PS Chatham recently recovered 66 bottles of liquor which were meant for illegal sale.

On 24/06/19, a team of PS Chatham comprising of HCs Victor Dung Dung, P.R Ajeesh Kumar, PCs M.Raja Rao, K. Ali, D. Venkateshwar Rao & HG(R) Selva Raj under the supervision of SI A. Usman, SHO PS Chatham conducted raid within the PS Jurisdiction and nabbed two persons namely Bala Subramani S/o Shri Ramanathan (32yrs) Pvt worker R/o Nayagaon and Telesfer Minj S/o Silbanus Minj (48yrs) R/o Nayagaon and recovered total 45 Nos 375 ml IMFL bottles.

Also on 25/06/19, 21 bottles of IMFL (09 nos 375ml & 12 nos 180ml) were recovered from the possession of M. Durai Raj S/o Late Mahadevan (47yrs) R/o Bambooflat. All the IMFL bottles were seized on the spot and the accused were arrested and a case under relevant section of excise regulation was registered at PS Chatham.

The public is requested to share information about illegal brewing and sale of illicit liquor and narcotic drugs with Police so that such anti-social elements are brought to justice. Such information may be provided at 112, 100, 03192-232100 & 03192-232400 for swift action. The identity of the informer will be kept secret.
