Programme on Menstrual Health by RFA

Port Blair, Sept 04: A programme on Menstrual Health for the adolescent girls was organized by Rights for All (RFA) Organization, at the Kendravidyalaya No 1 for the girl students of classes XI and XII. The key speaker for the program me was Dr Arun K Unnithan, a leading gynecologist of ANI and Vice President of RFA who addressed the gathering about menstrual health and hygiene . Mrs Rubina Siddiqui, President RFA and ex member UTCPCR, while talking to the students about the NGO also covered the topic of Teen Pregnancy which is a growing concern in the islands. Rights For All is an island based Ngo whose approach is to catalyse
systematic change by creating meaningful interventions through advocacy, training and capacity building programmes. . Their thrust areas are child rights & protection, education, health and sustainable livelihood for women, youth and children etc.
The talks were followed by a quiz and later there was also a session with the Doctor where the more than 150 students very enthusiastically got all their queries answered .the Principal ,KV 1, Smt Rajji expressed her immense satisfaction on receiving a very positive feedback from her girl students. Team RFA proposes to conduct similar sessions in various schools across South Andaman.
