PS Campbell Bay brings laurels for A & N Islands: Police Station Campbell Bay adjudged as the second best Police Station in India

Port Blair, Dec 20: The Police Station Campbell Bay under the Nicobar District has been adjudged as the second best Police Stations in the entire Country and its SHO, Inspector Vishal Ram has been awarded with the shield by the Union Home Minister, Mr. Rajnath Singh during the DPGs/IGPs conference held at Kevadiya, Gujarat on 20/12/2018.
The award is the result of continuous endeavor and planned efforts of Ms Shalini Singh, IGP under the resolute leadership of the present Director General of Police, Mr. Depender Pathak.
The Police Station is located far away from the Headquarters and continuously confronting various challenges associated therein. Inspite of these challenges the PS & its staff has been dedicating best of their services to the local population which also includes Shompen Tribes.
Various proactive actions and special community oriented policing efforts in addition to welfare measures for the staff by the Police department for the last one year in a planned approach has led to this award of being adjudged one of the top three police stations in India. This award is a matter of great pride for the entire Andaman & Nicobar Police and the citizens of these Islands.
All this has been possible because of the sincere efforts of Inspector Vishal Ram, SHO PS Campbell Bay under the supervision & guidance of Mr. Manoj C, Superintendent of Police, Nicobar District. They have been instrumental in achieving this rare feet which is first such instance of any Police Station in our Islands being adjudged among one of the best in the Country.
Inspector Vishal Ram, who received the award today is a Sub Inspector of 2006 batch of A&N Nicobar Police and is posted at PS Campbell Bay since 29/09/2017. He is a very hard working and dedicated officer.
After assuming the charge of SP/Nicobar, Mr. Manoj IPS has been taking sincere efforts to keep the timely investigation and disposal of cases, case properties and above all the most importantly public friendliness in the remotest part of this district , it was learned he has made it a point to regularly communicate with local public face to face to get the ground reality . Besides, community policing and other schemes of GOI which, student police cadet Swatch Bharat Abhiyan, citizens charters etc. have been effectively implemented in the district and nirbeekh boxes were installed in all the remotest schools and is being monitored regularly by the SP himself.
