RAP relaxation: ACCI expresses gratitude to LG & CS

Port Blair, Sept 23: The Restricted Area Permit (RAP) Regime under which foreign tourists had to obtain necessary permit from the competent authority has been relaxed in A&N Islands from 29th June, 2018. Therefore, the foreign tourists do not required RAP to visit the listed 29 Islands in the A&N Islands.
Moreover, the Govt of India had approved to wave the mandatory registration process of foreign tourists with the Foreigners Registration Officer within 24 hours of the arrival. Further the Viper Islands has also been included in the list of 29 islands, which had opened for day visit to the foreign tourists. This will certainly give way to boost the tourism industry rapidly in these Islands.
The President Mr. Girish Arora and all Members of Andaman Chamber of Commerce & Industry has thanked the Lt. Governor, A&N Islands along with the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration and all Officers of the Administration and the Ministry of Home Affairs in fulfilling the long felt demand of Islanders and the tourists.
“We know that this has happened only due to the active persuasion of the Lt. Governor and the Chief Secretary,” a release from ACCI said here today.
