Port Blair, Dec 09: Following reports published by Andaman Sheekha regarding poor garbage management inside Industrial Estate Dollygunj and Bhatubasti, the Swachh Bharat Ambassador of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mr. Naresh Chander Lal, visited the Dollygunj Industrial Estate area this morning.
The Councillor of the area Mr. Dharmendra Narayan also accompanied Mr. Lal and assured him that the area will be cleaned by Monday or Tuesday.
It was also brought in to the notice of Ambassador by the Ward Councillor that the occupants of the allotted Industrial area are not paying any amounts to the PBMC for cleaning garbage, although the Industries Department has cleared, when allotted, it is the responsibility of occupants of Industrial Estate to pay fee for garbage cleaning. The problem is same in Bhatu Basti Industrial Area too.
The Swachh Bharat Ambassador advised a meeting between occupants of Industrial Estate and Ward Councillor, to sort out this problem.
