Port Blair, Oct 10: As part of Student Support Services, the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), Regional Centre, Port Blair installed a new Kiosk at its Student Service Counter. The Selfie Check- In Kiosk was inaugurated by Dr.V. Girija Devi, IGNOU Regional Director (retired), Regional Centre, Trivandrum. The Kiosk is provided with additional keyboard (with musical instrument) and wired mouse facility also. By entering the IGNOU enrolment number, the student can check the status of study material packets readily available at Warehouse, Shadipur and undelivered returned packets, if any, sent by post. Similarly, the status of returned Grade Cards and Provisional Certificates, Degree Certificates available at Regional Centre can be located. The offline mode Kiosk is having loaded with five different database folders containing over 2500 students data. The Selfie Check- In Kiosk is first of its kind in IGNOU network of Regional Centres. Without waiting for the staff, the student can check the status quickly and easily. A communication from Regional Director, IGNOU, Regional Centre, Port Blair said.
