Port Blair, Mar 19: To fight against the menace of illicit liquor, a special operation was carried out by PS Ograbraj on 11/03/19. In this operation police teams were constituted under the supervision of Inspector K. Binoj, SHO PS Ograbraj to conduct jungle raid/search for illicit liquor in PS Ograbraj jurisdiction. A team comprising HC Ram Nag, PCs Nazir Ahmed, Ashok Kumar Das and Mohd. Sharif conducted search in Ograbarj area and recovered 01 drum and 02 tin contains fermented illicit liquor (Lehan). During the operation approximately 170litres (Lehan) of fermented illicit liquor was destroyed.
Thereafter on 15/03/2019, on receipt of credible information, a raiding team under the guidance of SHO Ograbraj comprising HCs Ram Nag, SumatiKumari, PCsA. K. Das, Nazir Ahmed and BeronikaKumari conducted raid near LalPahad Chouldhari and recovered around 215gm ganja from the possession of MamtaChaudhary W/o SudevMallickR/o LalPahad.
The whole operation was conducted under the supervision of Mr. Manoj Kumar Meena, SDPO (Bambooflat) under the direction of Mr. Deepak Yadav, IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District.
