South Andaman Police Arrested 01 Person for Cannabis Plantation

Port Blair, May 19: South Andaman Police has registered a case of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act 1985 and arrested one person and made recovery of 04 cannabis plants weighing 20 grams.

On 17.05.2019, on receipt of credible information, a raiding team under the guidance of SHO Hutbay, SI V.P Mishra comprising ASI S.N Rathore, HC Mohan and PCs Ali, M.K Dey and Anirudh conducted raid at V.K Pur and recovered 04 cannabis plants weighing 20 grams from arecanut plantation of the accused person namely Sunil Baroi S/o Akhai Baroi age 69 years R/o Hutbay.

The entire operation took place under the close supervision of SDPO Swaraj Dweep Mr. Prashant Choudhary under the guidance of Mr. Deepak Yadav, IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District. The public is requested to share information with Police at 112, 03192-232100 and 03192-232400. The identity of the informant will be kept secret, in a release Deepak Yadav, IPS, SP, South Andaman District said.
