South Andaman Police Arrested One Drug Peddler and Seized 750 Grams of Ganja


Port Blair, May 21: A team of Swaraj Dweep Police Station has registered a case of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act 1985 and arrested one person with 750 grams of illicit Ganja.

On 19.05.2019, on receipt of credible information, a raiding team under the guidance of SHO Swaraj Dweep, Insp. Rahul and comprising SI J. Rama Krishna, HC Ram Preet Yadav, PCs Aslam, Abdul Ameen, Ganesh Prasad, Chandan Sen, Srinivas Rao, Sanjit Halder, Nisha Mandal, Priya Karmakar and  PC(D) K. Vallapa Rao conducted raid at coconut plantation near beach side of Something Different Restaurant and recovered 750 grams of illicit ganja and an amount of Rs. 10,600/- from the possession of one Basudev Mondal S/o Late Jitendra Nath Mondal, 27 yrs R/o Swaraj Dweep No. 2.

The entire operation took place under the close supervision of SDPO Swaraj Dweep Mr. Prasanth Choudary under the overall supervision of Mr. Deepak Yadav, IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District. The general public is requested to share information with Police at 112, 03192-232100, 03192-233077 and 03192-232400. The identity of the informant will be kept secret, in a communiqué SP, South Andaman District said.
