South Andaman Police Solved Theft Case and Arrested Two Accused

Port Blair, July 03: On 24/06/2019, an FIR was registered at PS Chatham regarding theft of 19 mobile phones from a Mobile servicing shop at Haddo. Upon this, a police team of PS Chatham comprising of SI Santosh R. Shenoy, HCs Victor Dung, & P.R Ajeesh Kumar, PCs M. Raja Rao, K. Ali, Kabir Kumar, D. Venkateshwar and HG(R)/Selva Raj under the supervision of SI, A. Usman, SHO PS Chatham started investigation and suspected persons were interrogated.

On sustained interrogation, one of the suspects namely Bhuvaneshwaran @ Bond S/o Shri Purushottaman (21yrs) R/o Buniyadabad confessed to his crime and named the co accused Y. Raja S/o Yesudas (19yrs) R/o Buniyadabad, who was also nabbed from Dundaspoint. Upon sustained interrogation the co-accused also confessed the crime and further accepted their role in the theft from New Look Cloth Store, A/Bazaar committed on 10/06/2019.

The co-accused revealed that he had hidden the stolen goods at Dunduspoint and Namunaghar following which the police team recovered all the stolen goods. Both the accused were booked under relevant section of IPC and produced before the Hon’ble Court from where they sent to judicial custody.

The entire operations took place under the close supervision of SI, A. Usman, SHO PS Chatham under the direction of Shri. Nishant Gupta, DANIPS, SDPO South Andaman and under the overall supervision of Shri. Deepak Yadav, IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District.
