Special Camps at Polling Stations for Left Out Eligible Voters

Port Blair, Feb 20: In view of the ensuing General Elections to Lok Sabha 2019, as per the direction of the Election Commission of India, in order to provide further opportunity in campaign mode to all not enrolled persons to get their names registered in the electoral rolls during continuous updation period, so that no one is deprived of voting right. As such, a special camp for the said purpose will be organized on 23rd February (Saturday) and 24th February 2019 (Sunday) in each polling station for enrolment of eligible voters. Booth level officers will be present in the camps alongwith copies of the final electoral rolls and adequate copies of Forms 6,7, 8 and 8A etc. with him/her to facilitate filling up forms by eligible voters. Also it is informed that the EPIC holders can also check their names in the electoral rolls and fill up Form 6 if their name does not exist in the roll for some reason. Further it is mentioned that EPIC is only the identification document and does not guarantee franchise if the name of the person is not in the electoral roll of the concerned polling station.

All political parties are requested to avail the facility and depute their BLAs to remain present in the camp. Further all interested and leftout eligible persons are requested to avail the facility and enroll their names in the electoral rolls and ensure their participation in the electoral process.
