Special Camps for enrolment of new voters CEO Urges All Eligible Voters to Enrol Themselves

Port Blair, Feb 24: As per directions of Election Commission of India (ECI), two days special camps are being organized on Feb. 23rd & 24th, 2019, to register left out voters to the voter lists so that they can cast their vote in the ensuing Lok Sabha Election – 2019.

The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) also visited some polling stations in Port Blair where special camps are being organized. In polling station No. 223, the respective Booth Level Officer (BLO) was found absent during the visit. The CEO directed Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) of 26 – Andaman & Nicobar Islands Parliamentary Constituency (ANIPC) to put the official under suspension immediately and ensure that all the BLOs should remain present in their respective polling station with sufficient no. of Form–6, Form–7, Form–8 and Form–8A. They should also distribute EPIC Cards to new voters register during the special summary revision.

As reported by ERO 1735 Nos.Form–6, 284 Nos. Form–7, 241 Nos. Form–8 and 391 Nos.Form–8A were received on the first day of the special camps.

The Chief Electoral Officer has once again requested all the voters, especially the youths to avail this opportunity to register themselves as voters. Moreover, those voters who have already registered should check their entries in the final published electoral roll 2019 which is available on CEO’s website so that they can cast their vote smoothly during the ensuing Lok Sabha Election – 2019.
