State Level Homoeopathy Workshop for Anganwadi workers concludes

Port Blair, Apr 30: To mark the occasion of World Homoeopathy Day, a day long workshop for Anganwadi workers of South Andaman was jointly organized by AYUSH wing of DHS and A&N State AYUSH Society at Dr. B.R.Ambedkar Auditorium, PBMC, Port Blair on 27th April, 2019 with the theme ‘Role of Homoeopathy in Health Care Services’.

The Secretary (Health)/MD (NHM &NAM), Mrs. Kriti Garg, IAS inaugurated the function with the traditional lighting of lamp. While addressing the gathering Secretary Health acknowledged the complementary role of Anganwadi workers in collection of vital data, nutritional screening & services, basic Mother & Child Health Services. At the outset, Dr. Kalyan P.Kadbhane, Deputy Director (AYUSH) welcomed the gathering. Dr. Rekha, Specialist (AY) anchored the programme.

During technical sessions, Dr. M.A. Jawed, M.O I/c (Homoeo) highlighted ‘Significance and role of Homoeopathy in Health Care including Life Style disorders’. Dr. Hemawathi, M.O (Homoeo) explained about ‘common ailments and their treatment through Homoeopathy’. Dr. Krishnan Kutty, M.O (Homoeo) explained the topic ‘Homoeopathy for Mother and Child Health Care’. Yoga practice session was also conducted by Dr. Nandini, Yoga Instructor.

In the valedictory function held in the evening, certificates were distributed to around 280 participant AWWs Anganwadi Workers in a release Dr. Kalyan P. Kadbhane, Deputy Director (AYUSH) said.
