Port Blair, Apr 23: As committed to take stringent action and zero tolerance against the encroachment upon government land, the District Administration has evicted the encroachments on revenue land under Ferrargunj Tehsil. In this process, 7 Nos. encroachments in the shape of tin sheds/ huts and temporary fencing upon govt. land were removed by the Revenue Field staff at Bambooflat village. Besides, 09 Nos. of temporary structure/ fencing were also removed at Hopetown village under South Andaman District. The whole process of eviction was carried out under the supervision of Mr. K. Sunil Kumar, Tehsildar Ferrargunj.
Moreover, a fresh encroachment by constructing temporary shed/ fencing over the government land around 500 Sqmtr by one Smt. Seema Mistry, W/o Prafulla Mistry has also been evicted at Shippighat Village under Port Blair Tehsil.
General public is hereby cautioned to refrain from such unauthorized activities and encroachments, including buying and selling encroached land. In case of any violation found, stringent action will be taken. In case any of fresh encroachments are noticed, the general public can inform the District Control Room on toll free no. 1070 & 03192- 238881/ 9434280018, Dy. Commissioner (SA) said.
