Port Blair, Apr 08: The Third phase of Training Programme of all the Polling Personnel was held on 08th, April, 2019 in all the Tehsils of North & Middle Andaman District. It was also attended by the respective sector officers.
In Mayabunder, The District Election Officer, Mr. Awanish Kumar, IAS briefed the Polling Personnel about their powers, roles, duties and responsibilities and sensitized them with various Do’s and Don’ts on the pre-poll and the poll day. The same was also conducted in Diglipur and Rangat tehsils. Emphasis was given on sealing procedures, filling of mandatory annexures, conduct of mock polls, connecting EVMs, timely reporting on the poll day, etc.
The Power point presentation was followed by a hands-on-training in small groups on the use of Control Unit, Ballot Unit, VVPAT, VSDU and paper trail, etc.
The District Election Officer delineated various safeguards along with systems of checks put in place by the Election Commission of India and emphasized that there is no any room for error on the part of any official in conduct of free, fair and peaceful election in the district.
