Port Blair, Mar 16: In view of the change in the office timing of Directorate of Shipping Services, the timing of STARS ticketing counter situated at Port Blair as well as at outstations, has also been revised. The new timings are as follows:-

The counter shall be closed on Sundays and other Holidays. Further, in order to contain spreading of COVID-19 in these Islands, the A&N Administration, to avoid congestion and congregation in the ships and ferries has decided to operate all vessels of the Directorate of Shipping Services upto 50% of their carrying capacity from midnight of 16.03.2020 to midnight of 26.03.2020. Consequent to the above, all vessels of the Directorate including the Harbour sector vessels both passenger ferry and vehicle ferry, shall carry passengers upto 50% of their carrying capacity only.
General public and commuters, in this regard have been requested to cooperate to the extent possible, so that stepped up measures of Administration, in containing the spreading of COVID -19 can be achieved successfully.
