Port Blair, Jan 29: The Tourism Department will be organizing the “Flea market” of this season on 30th & 31st January, 2019 at Marina Park, to showcase the local culture, cuisine, art & handicrafts as “Unique Tourism Products” of this Island. This initiative is to encourage the participation of the locals in Tourism promotion. Products such as handcrafted art pieces, Handmade Jewellery, local spices, food stalls offering local homemade foods, snacks, packed pickles, sale of organically made soaps & shampoos etc are the key attractions.
Fisheries Development Federation Society, PBMC, SHGs/NGOs & others will also put up their stalls during the event, mainly manned by upcoming women entrepreneurs. Special arrangements have been made for organizing Live Orcheshtra performances by Dance groups, Western Dances etc. The general public have been requested to participate in large numbers and to make this event a big success.
