TSG Charitable Foundation launches Software-Based Blood Grouping in Andaman & Nicobar Islands

Port Blair, May 13: With an aim to enhance emergency response capabilities and improve healthcare accessibility for the residents of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, the TSG Charitable Foundation has unveiled a pioneering initiative aimed to revolutionize the blood donation in Andaman & Nicobar Islands and to potentially save countless lives in emergency.

The inaugural ceremony of software-based Blood Grouping Camp was held at Ganasai Ground, Haddo Ward no. 02 on Sunday with the support of Ritika Hospital, Directorate of Health Services and Mr. Eswar Rao, Social Worker. The event marked a significant leap forward in healthcare accessibility for the islanders. Mr. TSG Bhasker, Chairman, TSG Charitable Foundation graced the occasion and inaugurated the event by himself registering as a Blood Donor and participating in the Blood Grouping Test.

The event saw good participation of people especially the youths who came forward to register their name in the Blood Donor List and gave their blood sample for identifying their blood group.

This innovative approach will leverage cutting-edge technology to streamline the blood grouping process and ensure swift and accurate matching of donors with recipients. After completion of Blood Grouping Camp in all 24 Wards, the TSG Charitable Foundation will establish a systematic call center with an aim to provide a dedicated platform for individuals to inquire about blood availability and donor details, particularly for rare blood types.

The need for such an initiative became evident due to the challenges faced by islanders in arranging rare blood types during emergencies. With the new software-based system, individuals can now access crucial information about donors, including their last donation dates, facilitating prompt and efficient responses to emergency situations.
