Two days State Level Workshop on ‘Management of Neurological Disorders through Homoeopathy’ concludes successfully

Port Blair, Nov 27: Two-days state level training–cum-workshop on ‘Management of Neurological disorders through Homoeopathy’ for Medical Officers (Homoeopathy) under Health department, NAM & NHM (including RBSK) organized by AYUSH Wing of DHS and A&N State AYUSH Society at TGCE Seminar Hall on 19th& 20thNovember, 2018 concluded successfully. The workshop was inaugurated on 19th November by Mrs. Kriti Garg, IAS, Secretary (Health)/MD (NHM & NAM) by lighting the traditional lamp. Speaking on the occasion Secretary (Health) stressed on the importance of continuous medical education for the doctors to enhance their knowledge and also appealed them to apply the acquired knowledge in day to day practice for the welfare of the society.
Dr. Jawahar Shah, an eminent researcher and renowned Homoeopath from Mumbai, enlightened the Homoeopathic approach particularly on Autism and Other Neurological disorders in daily OPD. He shared his experience of treating various cases of Autism. Moreover, he also discussed about his latest research on new medicines such as Ayahuasca and Salmon.
Dr. S. Gopinadhan, Scientist-4, Professor and HoD, Department of Psychiatry from the National Homoeopathic Research Institute of Mental Health (NHRIMH), Kottayam highlighted the Homoeopathic approach of Cerebral Palsy and Behavioural problems of Children. As Homoeopathy deals with mental aspect of the patients, Dr. S. Gopinadhan gave a brief overview on Stress & Depression. He also discussed various cases of patients undergoing treatment in NHRIMH.
Dr. Mitesh Behari, Psychiatrist, G.B. Pant Hospital, Port Blair gave a detailed approach on the Stress and Stress Management. He discussed on the various causes and effects of stress, and the methods to be adopted to de-stress oneself in their daily routine.
The sessions were interactive and twenty-one Medical Officers enthusiastically participated in all the sessions.
In a valedictory function held on 20th November, Dr. Kalyan P. Kadbhane, Deputy Director (AYUSH) expressed his gratitude to the resource persons and congratulated all the doctors for completing the workshop.
