Two officers of A&N Police will be awarded with the prestigious ‘Police Medal for Meritorious Service’ on Independence Day 

Port Blair, Aug 14: It is a matter of great honour and pride for A&N Police that two of its officers have been conferred the prestigious ‘Police Medal for Meritorious Service’ for their illustrious and unblemished service on the occasion of 75th Independence Day, 2022. The awards were announced by the Ministry of Home Affairs on the eve of Independence Day.
Mr. Shaji Mathew joined A&N Police in 2002 and later got selected for the post of Sub-Inspector in 2014. He has shown exemplary professionalism in discharging his duties at various units of A&N Police. He has diligently served in Central Agencies. In recognition of his hard work, dedication and noteworthy efforts towards duties, he has been conferred the ‘Police Medal for Meritorious Service.
Mr. G. Kameshwar Rao joined A&N Police in 2002. He has been part of many projects of A&N Police. He worked tirelessly in preparation of the 15 years vision documents, 07-year strategy and 03 years action Plan 2017-18, 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 for the A&N Police. In recognition of his hard work and dedication towards duties, he has been conferred the ‘Police Medal for Meritorious Service’.
Mr. Neeraj Thakur, IPS, DGP, A&N Islands complimented both the awardees for the distinctions conferred on them and for bringing honour to A&N Police. He wished them success in their future career.
