Union Minister of State for Road Transport & Highways, Shipping and Chemicals & Fertilizers arrives

Port Blair, Oct 21: The Union Minister of State for Road Transport & Highways, Shipping and Chemicals & Fertilizers, Shri. Mansukh Mandaviya arrived on a three-day visit to these Islands today. Soon after arrival, the Minister visited Havelock Island, where he inspected the site for the proposed Sea Port Passenger Terminal near Havelock Jetty. The Member of Parliament, Shri. Bishnu Pada Ray, senior officers of the Shipping Services, Port Management Board and Andaman Lakshadweep Harbour Works were also present during this visit of the Minister.

Tomorrow, (Oct. 22), the Minister is scheduled to hold a meeting with local officers in the conference hall of Dolphin Resort, Havelock at 10 am. He will also make announcements of new works during this meeting. Thereafter, the Minister will return to Port Blair and review the ongoing works of NHIDCL, ALHW and SCI, in the conference hall of Secretariat at 2 pm. The Minister is also scheduled to visit Dry Dock, Port Blair and other works of ALHW besides Bambooflat/Chatham/Sippighat.

Earlier, on his arrival at the Veer Savarkar Airport this morning, the Minister was received by the Member of Parliament, Shri. Bishnu Pada Ray, the State President BJP, A&N Islands, Shri. Vishal Jolly, senior leaders and party workers of BJP A&N Islands. The Minister is also scheduled to hold a meeting with senior leaders, members of elected body and party workers at BJP Bhavan, Middle Point tomorrow afternoon.
