World Homoeopathy Day Celebrated at AYUSH Hospital

Port Blair, Apr 10: ‘World Homoeopathy Day’, was celebrated on 10.04.2019 in the Yoga Hall of AYUSH Hospital by AYUSH wing of DHS and A&N State AYUSH Society to commemorate 264th birth anniversary of Dr. Christian Freidrich Samuel Hahnemann, a German physician who discovered the Principles of Homoeopathy and developed it as “Science of gentle healing”.

Speaking on the occasion the Chief Guest, Dr. S.P. Burma, Director of Health Services emphasized the role of Homoeopathy in health care services. He stated that this method of treatment is widely accepted among the people as it is easily palatable and cost effective. He also applauded the synergistic approach of allopathic and AYUSH systems of medicines.

At the outset, Dr. Kalyan P. Kadbhane, Deputy Director (AYUSH) welcomed the gathering and gave a brief review about the various Homoeo units functioning in the different parts of the UT.

Dr. C. Rani, Medical Officer (Homoeo) highlighted the various events conducted during the fortnight long celebration of World Homoeopathy Day. She also explained the significant role of Homoeopathic system of medicine for Mother and Child Health care.
