Port Blair, Jun 26: Andaman and Nicobar Islands Sea Food Exporters Association organized an event on 25th June 2022 at Dairy Farm to felicitate Mr. Vishal Jolly, National Executive Member BJP and Former State President BJP, A&N Islands for taking up their burning demand for air cargo operation for transporting the daily chilled fish from air cargo which was stopped since 17th May 2022.
On the intervention of Mr. Vishal Jolly vide his letter dated 22.06.2022 to the Union Minister Dr. General (Retd.) V. K. Singh, and with help of the Station Director, Port Blair Airport, the matter was resolved and a full-fledged air cargo operation for transporting the chilled fish has been restored.
Similarly, during the interaction following demands were raised by the fishermen’s community: 1. Fixing ice block rates so that fishermen get the ice block at affordable rates; 2. Providing clean and safe space to the seafood exporters for packing and despatching the consignment effectively and 3. Construction of a 50-100 Ton capacity ice plant for the betterment of the fishermen community.
Mr. Vishal Jolly assured that all issues raised by the fishermen’s community will be taken with appropriate authority for redressal.
Earlier, the Association expressed its gratitude to Mr. Vishal Jolly for immediately resolving the matter of air cargo operation and always standing up for the welfare of the fishermen’s community.
