Port Blair, Jun 07: Mr. AjoyBairagi, State President BJP A&N Islands raised important issues related to the Aviation sector with Gen V K Singh, MoS for MoRTH and Civil Aviation on his recent visit to the Islands.
He discussed issues of Upgradation of Runway, where it was learned that soon after monsoons runways will again shift for a few days for upgradation.
He further requested MoS for directing authority to take this work with minimum curtailment of runways. He emphasized more on finishing the extension of Shibpur Airport at Diglipur, Campbell Bay Airport and Great Nicobar Airport in a time-bound manner.
He further requested MoS Civil Aviation to connect far-flung Islands with Sea Plane which will bring huge relief to the general public. He requested additional Helicopter services for uncovered Islands benefiting the general public. He emphasized connecting Andaman with all major cities which will reduce travel time for tourists and also help improve tourism in the Islands.
