Port Blair, Oct 31: Today, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Car Nicobar celebrated National Unity Day to commemorate the Birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel in which 50 youths from various villages participated. On the occasion Run for Unity was organized from NYK, Office to Gandhi Chowk and Back and the run was flagged off by Mr. Anand Verdhan Mishra, Assistant Commissioner (HQ), and Car Nicobar. The run was also participated by the chief guest and other guests Mr.Mickel Raj, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Car Nicobar, Mr. DN Choudhary, Training Officer, ITI, Arong and Mr. Ahmed Ali, Secretary, NAA, Car Nicobar along with the participants. At the end Mr.Mickel Raj, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Nicobar District garlanded the portrait of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel in presence of other guests. Earlier Mr.Alphonce Toppo, Deputy Director (OSD), NYK, Car Nicobar highlighted the importance of the day and proposed a vote of thanks at the end.
