Hindi Diwas and Hindi Fortnight by Botanical Survey of India, Port Blair

Port Blair, Sep 14: Hindi Day was observed & inaugurated the Hindi Fortnight celebrations in Botanical Survey of India, Andaman and Nicobar Regional Centre to mark the adoption of Hindi language as official language of India on 14.09.2023. 

This was to bring unity among the diversified languages of our country. The programme was inaugurated by Joint Director & Regional Head, Dr. Lal Singh with lightening of Lamp. Dr. Singh emphasized upon the importance of using Hindi works in the office as well as in day to day life and brief about Official Language Acts which was promulgated implementation on 14th September, 1949 for the adoption of Hindi language as official language and also on Rajbhasha Article 343-351, section 17 of schedule 7. 

Scientists/Officers and staff of BSI actively participated in the programme. Dr. Pankaj Arvind Dhole, Botanist & Hindi Officer, delivered the vote of thanks. The programme was moderated by Mr. Prakash Horo, Junior Translation Officer.
