Port Blair, Dec 12: Hope Foundation, an emerging NGO, organized a program on AIDS awareness at Girls Sr. Sec. School, Port Blair. In the presence of Mrs. Archana Singh Principal of the school, teachers and members of Hope Foundation, Students from class 06 to 12 attended the program.
Deputy Director (IEC), Mrs. Jahanara Yasmeen from Aids Control Society, A&N Islands, was the speaker of the occasion. While addressing the students, she briefly described the main cause of the disease, what measures one should take to prevent it and how HIV positive patients should be treated by their surroundings. The students attentively participated in the program, and it seems to be a highly successful program.
