Inspection of the ongoing MGNREGA works under Diglipur and Radhanagar Gram Panchayats by Deputy Commissioner/DPC, MGNREGA, along with IAS (P), BDO Diglipur

Port Blair, Dec 17: The Deputy Commissioner/DPC, MGNREGA, N&M Andaman, Mr. Ankit Yadav, IAS, alongwith Mr. Wairokpam Punshiba Singh, IAS (P), BDO Diglipur, PRIs of the concerned Gram Panchayat and other MGNREGA Officials inspected the ongoing MGNREGA works under Diglipur and Radhanagar Gram Panchayats today. The inspected works include construction of Community Soak pits and fencing of Anganwadi Centre under GP Diglipur and works in public lands as well as individual/private lands of the households belonging to BPL families and small & marginal farmers under GP Radhanagar. He also interacted with MGNREGA beneficiaries at the work sites of the concerned Gram Panchayat and took cognizance of providing employment on demand and mandatory work sites facilities such as, Shed, Crèche, Shape Drinking water and First Aid box etc.
   The DPC, MGNREGA, N&MA has emphasized to take up more permissible works on the lands belonging to households of BPL families small & marginal farmers & PMAY(G) beneficiaries. The works of horticulture plantations, goats/poultry etc., are to be prioritized for individual/private households as envisaged under MGNREGA Guidelines to strengthen their livelihood and economic conditions.

    The DC/DPC, MGNREGA, N&MA also apprised the officials of MGNREGA, Diglipur Tehsil that an amount of Rs.33.00 Lakh has been allocated to the Diglipur Block for settlement of due materials bills. He further, informed the block officials that the proposal/approval of new rates of materials for MGNREGA works of Diglipur and Rangat Blocks are under examination and will be finalized soon.

    The DC/DPC, MGNREGA, N&MA also directed the Block level officials of MGNREGA, Diglipur Tehsil to complete all incomplete works on highest priority including the works of construction of individual and Community soak pits under Solid Liquid Waste Management (SLWM).

      The DPC, MGNREGA, N&MA applauded the block officials of MGNREGA and PRIs for their efforts to provide employment to all the households demanding timely employments and achieving the targets of mandays generation under MGNREGA determined for FY 2023-24.
