Port Blair, Sep 04: The Directorate of Shipping Services today announced the introduction of the UPI (Unified Payments Interface) payment system for purchase of ferry tickets at Chatham & Bambooflat. This initiative marks a significant step towards modernizing the ticketing process, making it more user- friendly and efficient for our valued commuters.

As a pilot project, this innovative payment system will be available at Chatham/Bambooflat Ticketing Counter to all commuters who utilize the Passenger/Vehicle ferry services. This digital payment solution allows passengers to pay using their smart phones, eliminating the need for physical cash transactions and reducing waiting times at ticket counters.

This Directorate encourages all commuters of Bambooflat and its adjoining areas to take advantage of this new payment method for purchase of tickets and request to avail the facilities of making payment through UPI ID placed at the Chatham and Bambooflat Counters.
