Member of Parliament demands for an additional Andaman Guest House at New Delhi

Port Blair, June 16: The Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the  Lt. Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands to plan for an additional Andaman Guest House at New Delhi, in a prime location, so that people visiting New Delhi get affordable and safe accommodation at New Delhi. 

In a letter addressed to the Lt. Governor, the Member of Parliament pointed out that there is a huge demand for rooms at Andaman Guest House New Delhi but due to lack of sufficient individual rooms often residents of Andaman and Nicobar Islands do not get rooms.

He added that New Delhi being the capital of India, large number of Islanders visit New Delhi for several reasons like Treatment, Higher Education, Government Servants on duty, participating in Sports events and Tribal brother and sisters on Tour but in many cases sufficient rooms are not available and hence many has to stay in private hotels, which are not only expensive but also not completely safe.


He mentioned that in near future the demands for rooms at New Delhi for Islanders will increase manifold and hence considering the convenience of people of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, the Member of Parliament requested to plan for an additional Andaman Guest House at New Delhi, in a prime location, so that people visiting New Delhi get affordable and safe accommodation at New Delhi.
