Meri Mati Meri Desh – A Green Initiative by Nehru Yuva Kendra, Port Blair

Port Blair, Aug 09: 9th August, 2023 – A remarkable event, *Meri Mati Meri Desh*, unfolded today at the premises of Vanbasi Kalyan Ashram, Port Blair, as Nehru Yuva Kendra, Port Blair, in collaboration with Andaman Helping Hands, A&N Islands (AHHANI), and Allu Arjun Army Andaman (AAAA), spearheaded an inspiring plantation drive. The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of about 30 youth, who collectively planted a total of 150 saplings, contributing to the greener and healthier future of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Mr.Shreehari, Sangathan Mantri of Vanbasi Kalyan Ashram, who joined as the chief guest. Mr.Shreehari’s insightful words shed light on the significance of environmental conservation and the responsibility each individual holds towards nurturing our motherland. His presence added a touch of motivation and guidance to the event.

Another notable guest who attended the event was Mr. Shambhu Murthy, Rakth Veer of the Police Department. Mr. Murthy’s dedication to serving the community and his commitment to safeguarding the environment resonated with the spirit of the event. His encouragement and support bolstered the enthusiasm of the participants.

As part of NYK Port Blair, Mr. Gopal Ch Biswas of NYK took the stage to motivate and inspire the participating youth. His words ignited a sense of purpose and instilled a deep sense of responsibility towards environmental preservation among the attendees. Mr. Biswas also had the honour of proposing the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all those who contributed to making the event a success.

The collaboration between Nehru Yuva Kendra, Port Blair, Andaman Helping Hands, A&N Islands (AHHANI), and Allu Arjun Army Andaman (AAAA) showcased the unity and determination of various community-driven organizations towards a common goal – the betterment of our environment.
