Port Blair, Nov 29: A get together meeting with top sportspersons and coaches of Andaman & Nicobar Islands from Rowing, Kayaking and Canoeing background was held at TSG Emerald View Hotel with a view to seek their suggestions on improving the Island’s performance in National Games.
The discussion was chaired by the President of A&N Rowing Association Mr. TSG Bhasker and was attended by several people of eminence such as Retired Deputy Director, SAI, Mr. Joy Kumar Roy, Retired Sr. Coach Mr. Yesudasan, Secretary, A&N Rowing Association Mr. Akash Adhikari, Sportsperson’s Mrs. Sandhya Kispotta, Mrs. Regina Kiro, Mrs. Srimati Bishnoi, Mr. Rama Rao, Mr. Venkat, Mrs. Arpita Roy, Mrs. Mamta Tirkey, Mrs. Abha Manjula, Mrs. Puspam, Mrs. Milka Manaf, Mr. Manish Kumar Tiwari and several others.
Participants gave their frank and forthright views and suggestions for making Andaman & Nicobar Islands realise its potential and improve its position in medals tally in National and International sports events.
Mr. TSG Bhasker and all dignitaries lauded the remarkable achievement of rowing player Mr. S. Jagdish who recently won Gold Medal in the “24th Sub-Junior and 6th Inter-State Challenge Sprint National Rowing Championship” held at Hyderabad.
