Port Blair, Feb 25: The final match of YCOB Unity Cup Volleyball Championship – 2019, season-6 concluded on 21st February 2019 in a befitting manner in the Muslim Basti play ground, Ograbraj. The final match between AN Ravi Arts and Selected Brothers was witnessed by the Chief Guest Mr. Chetan B. Sanghi, IAS, Chief Secretary A&N Islands, while Sh. Sanjib Kumar Mandal, Adhyaksh Zilla Parishad South Andama and Sh. Krishan Kumar, IAS CEO Zilla Parishad South Andaman & Secretary RD&PRI/Agriculture, were the guest of honours on the occasion. While speaking the chief guest he lauded the efforts of Youth Club Ograbraj for organizing such a big event in the rural area and expressed his desire to support any sports events in the future as well as accept the various demand made by the club & Panchayat.
The team of AN Ravi Arts won the final match by 25-20, 25-22 and 15-11 in contrasting styles. The game was thoroughly enjoyed by chief guest and the jam-packed sports lovers in play ground Ograbraj. Apart from the winners and runners trophies, both the teams were presented with an attractive cash prize.
Mr. Rajesh of AN Ravi Arts was adjudged man of the Tournament, while the man of the match for final contest was bagged by Mr. Usman, AN Ravi Arts.
In his address Mr. Safuvan, Secretary, YCOB thanked the Chief Guest and other officers, PRI members and people from all walks of life for gracing the occasion. He also briefed the gathering about the activities and achievements of YCOB.
Earlier Sh. Mohd Safique, Pradhan Gram Panchayat Mithakhari welcomed the gathering and draw the attention regarding the developmental issues before the Chief Secretary and the tournament ended with flag down followed by National Anthem.
