Port Blair, Apr 26: To conquer the menace of illicit ganja in N&M Andaman District, PS Rangat proved their mettle once again by ongoing tough against the drug peddlers.
Based on credible information received, a raiding team led by SI Madhab Halder, SHO, PS Rangat, conducted a raid in the Dashratpur area. The team, which included SI Abdul Sajeed, HC Rushkeswar Rao, PCs Sumitra Halder, Yaswant Rao, Pranab Halder & K.Sameer, along with two independent witnesses, was supervised by Shri. Rahul L. Nair, IPS, SDPO Rangat.
The team reached Dashratpur near house of the suspected and concealed themselves. Shortly after, the suspected individual was observed approaching from the main road having a bag in his hand. The raiding team swiftly intercepted him and conducted a search, resulting in the discovery of 860 grams of illicit ganja in the possession of Jagannath Sil, S/o Late Aditya Sil, 35 yrs, R/o Dashratpur. Following a thorough interrogation, Jagannath Sil confessed to his crime. Subsequently, a notice under Section 41 (A) of Cr.PC was served to the accused, and a case was registered at PS Rangat under the NDPS Act.
The whole operation was conducted under the supervision of Shri Rahul L. Nair, IPS, SDPO Rangat and overall direction and supervision of Ms. Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS, Superintendent of Police, North & Middle Andaman District.
