Port Blair, Jun 03: As a part of the celebration of World Environment Day 2022, the Zoological Survey of India, Port Blair is organizing various events such as Painting/Drawing competitions; an Exhibition on the fauna diversity of A&N Islands through, LED displays, Pamphlets, and Brochures and One-day seminar on Island biodiversity of A&N Islands to School/College students.
World Environment Day is celebrated on 05th June every year at Global Level in collaboration with UN Environment. World Environment Day has always been an important day for India. The day has been celebrated as a rededication of national efforts for sustainable development and mainstreaming environmental concern in the national developmental agenda.
On 5th June 2022, the day of World Environment Day, the ZSI is organizing a one-day Seminar on Island Biodiversity. The aim of the seminar is to create awareness of the Biodiversity of A&N Islands among the teachers and students. More than 80 teachers/students/researchers are expected to participate in the seminar besides staff, and research scholars of ZSI, Port Blair.
